This session is not about any specific tech tool, it’s about how to teach students to use technology responsibly. Learn why students turn to translators (spoiler alert: it’s not just because they’re lazy!) and explore practical strategies to show kids a better way. Using thoughtfully structured writing tasks, assessing students’ process, and embedding tech expectations into rubrics can help students develop real-world language skills while using digital tools responsibly. At the end of this session, teachers will have tools to move past shock, denial, and anger… and toward acceptance of the realities our students face in a rapidly changing educational environment.
